Read..REaD...READ!!

How do you get little girls excited to read??  Make it a party!  It's time to start up  homemaking skills and get learning.  We ( a couple of friends)  realized that dance and tumbling and soccer are great but will they be used much later on in life??  Are our girls being taught the things they will use throughout their life??  We thought we had better do something about that!  So we started a little co-op  where the girls could learn basic skills such as the importance of loving to learn and how to host, so Book Club was started!  They for sure need to know how to cook and not just from a box, so Cooking is part of the curriculum.  And what about the lost art of sewing??  Even if for repairs and alterations.  Sewing is also a part of our co-op.  And crafting??  Oh yes!  Every girl should know how to do a variety of crafts, because more than likely, they too will have little girls someday!  That's a pretty good variety of the necessities.   Lucky for me I have some very talented friends.  Here are some pictures of the first gathering of the year...  Tangled is our book and we learned just like Rapunzel we are Princesses too!  But not just Princesses to any King..but the King of all Kings.  We are daughters of a Heavenly Father and we have great potential to become Queens!  Love that!!

Where are you going July??

So we had a great time at Bear Lake!  What started as a Friday and Saturday trip turned into a week long one for me and the younger kids.  We left for the lake on Thursday with the Baltazar family and hit the lake on Friday for some awesome all day wake boarding!  Came back in, just as a storm was coming in.  The teenage boys Dakotah, Jaden, Blake and Chad dropped us off and Jeff headed for the truck, but not before the boat ran out of gas and the winds picked up floating our cute kids and boat out farther and farther!  With one oar and 4 kids, Dakotah manned the oar and the other 3 jumped ship and swam their hearts out with boat in tow.  Against the wind, progress was way way way slow!  Thanks to a wave runner dude, they were saved and all was brought in as the storm came in without mercy!  Anyways Saturday the boys left to go jump out of an airplane (waiting on the pictures..and holy crap I let them..haha like I could have stopped them!)and us parents and young-uns  spent the day at the  Minatonka cave and came out to rain.  It was all good because the fun we had could not be dampened.  It was time for the Baltazars to leave (being in the Bishopric can cut little trips short haha) We stayed until Sunday and when it was time to leave, me and the kids decided we weren't ready to go back, so Ken left us there.  With enough clothing for the last 2 days we spent there and food to barely get us by, we enjoyed 4 more days!  That means I was without a shower for a WEEK!  I was soooo roughing it!  Good thing I'm pretty low maintenance :)  The kids and I took a Rhino ride up in the mountains and shot pellet guns on Monday.  Had just a little hic-up as we visited Gladys in Fish Haven for ice cream.  We went to leave and we couldn't get started.  Some very nice not so sober gentlemen tried to help out, and me and the kids were just praying our atv would start!  After an hour or so and me reassuring our so willing to help out helpers that we would be fine the Rhino started up and we took off quickly.  Fell asleep that night to rain and exhaustion.  My Uncle Jerry came up on Tuesday and was so kind to spend the next couple of days taking us around and filling up our time.  We visited the park, went to Montpelier for ice creams and hit the ice caves.  Learned alot about my Dads family and enjoyed every minute of spending time with him.  Kids fell in love with him and we were sad when it was time to leave.  What an AWESOME summer we have had.  Lots of memories and new relationships built.  Can't believe it's almost time to say good by to summer vacation.  So sad!
